This is a song to Mother Earth, recognizing life on this planet as being the source and support for all spiritual work. Our own body is earth, and this is a song of building the foundation (ie our body) to be strong enough to go through spiritual transformation. A deep and estactic sense of glory comes as we attend to nature and ourselves in it, and we eventually realize that ‘those who wish to hear spiritual teachings, those who long to go on pilgrimage, can listen to the mountains and the rivers and the ocean. The earth herself is singing peace, peace, peace.”

Transliteration

In learning with a teacher, you are first presented with the tools of ‘how to chant’ this mantra. Then you are given deeper (and ever deeper) teachings about ‘meaning’. Please note that the meaning of Vedic chants is not in the translations, it is given in story and time together and context. Sharing this video as an example of what you might expect from studying with me.
